Green Highland Park is a community effort to develop a long-term vision, an action plan, and a way to track progress towards sustainable development in Highland Park.

Community members are discussing what they want Highland Park to look like in the future, what they can do to achieve this vision, and how to measure progress towards specific goals.

We have identified five big goal areas of key importance to the community: 1) Healthy Environment, 2) Healthy People, 3) Strong Community, 4) Convenient Transportation, and 5) Fairness & Equity. Each goal includes objectives that the community has highlighted as important sub-goals. In addition, we have identified indicators (or ways to track progress towards our goals and objectives) and targets (measurable milestones and explicit endpoints).

We continue to gather ideas on actions that can help us achieve our goals and reach our targets in each category. These goals, objectives, indicators, targets, and actions create the framework of the Highland Park Green Community Plan. We created this website to provide a forum for discussion about the Green Community Plan and to spark ideas about how we can work together to make Highland Park a more sustainable community. We encourage you to explore the site and to visit often.
